Our hearts are broken for this beautiful Husky who was treated like she was nothing more than garbage. Someone ran her over and left her on the side of the road. We don’t understand how someone could do this, knowing that their accident potentially cost a life and doing nothing to try to help the victim.
Ladybird deserved so much more than being run over and left to die, but unfortunately, these are the cards she was dealt. We are just thankful that someone saw her and brought her to the local shelter. Sadly though, she wasn’t safe and sound like the Good Samaritan had hoped. With limited space and resources, an injured pup lands at the top of the euthanasia list of some shelters, and Ladybird would soon find that out.
On a trip to drop supplies off at the before-mentioned shelter, we stumbled upon Ladybird. We were told that “the city won’t pay for the surgery she needs.” So she’d been sitting there with one leg fractured and the other leg SLICED OPEN for nearly a week.
We have no extra room and no extra money, but we couldn’t turn our backs on Ladybird. We are so appreciative of all of you and all you’ve given to our dogs. We are truly sorry we have to ask so often for help, but we’ll keep asking as long as there are dogs in need, and Ladybird is definitely in need.
The estimated cost of Ladybird’s surgery is $3,000. Two amazing donors have offered $1,000 each, which just leaves $1,000 that still needs to be covered. Without surgery, she’ll continue being in horrible pain (she’s been cleaned up and drugged at the vet for now) and her bones will never heal properly.
Please donate funds and supplies if you can and share her story. Ladybird's voice deserves to be heard and she deserves to have a healthy, and happy life. Please help us help her.
