Murphy can't use words to describe the horrific acts inflicted upon him. While not much is known about his history, we don't need an examination, blood tests, or x-rays to imagine the severity of his past traumas. For Murphy, it's written all over his poor little body. After being dumped at a car wash, someone else took Murphy in– but chose to keep him chained up outside. The neighbor saw him one day in the rain all alone, changed with nowhere to escape the weather. She brought him into her house and put Murphy into the bathroom, given that he was reactive to other animals.
When the rain had stopped, she returned Murphy to the "owner." Of course, she kept an eye on him, and unfortunately, (but to Murphy's benefit) saw some people go up to him and begin attacking the sweet boy. After running out to protect him, the "owner" told the neighbor that he was going to have Murphy euthanized or let him free on the road to live as a stray.
Knowing this could never happen to Murphy, the good samaritan took him in and called us, and we then brought Murphy in for an assessment! Today, Murphy is SAFE–starting Day #1 of his brand, new life. Already, we’ve learned so much about this guy—namely that he thinks he is a lap dog. He desperately needs his ears cleaned, but he is surprisingly neutered. His ears look like they were cut off with kitchen scissors, making us question even more so how much trauma this sweet boy has been through.
Luckily, Murphy has already gained a lot of attention from social media, so as far as bills go, we're actually okay. That being said, if you would like to make a monetary donation, your funds will go to our next medical case that we know won't be far behind Murphy, unfortunately. We are however asking for product donations for Murphy, so if you would like to contribute, we have listed items on our wishlist that we would be extremely grateful to receive. Thank you for your kindness and support!

For this gentle boy, to say life has not come easy would be an understatement. To say that he's simply been 'abandoned' or 'neglected' would be a lie. This is an animal that has silently suffered through a lifetime of abuse, likely inflicted at the hands of people who knew – or should have known – better.
