Samson came to us in a state of utter confusion. He was scared out of his mind, and he had every right to be. His condition is not something that happened overnight, but rather, over the span of MONTHS. He is unbelievably malnourished and severely dehydrated, so much so that he required treatment via IV fluids upon getting to the ER. There is not a single area on this poor boy which hasn't been affected. Everything is swollen and raw. His skeletal body is crusty and hard, with his poor noggin' covered in scabs and open, still-bleeding wounds. Everything is swollen.
This is just the start of this resilient boy's recovery: Right now, he is receiving daily hydrotherapy along with a slew of medications, but may require additional emergent care if he crashes (a possibility, considering how bad of shape he is in). And even after getting through this initial hump, Samson's overall physical recovery will take months, and his emotional healing is another story altogether.
Skin issues like this demand hands-on, extensive care—with the Mange and secondary infection requiring DAILY diligent, routine medicated baths and topical treatments (both of which Samson will continue to need for weeks, maybe months). The GOOD news is that today, this little warrior is working hard on building up his strength and health—but he could really use our support.
Please send extra-warm thoughts and prayers to Samson as he continues his recovery. If you're able to donate just $5 towards his medical care or send her a loving gift, it would be greatly appreciated. We will update everyone as soon as more is known. Thank you so much.

This poor boy was found ONLY because of the sheer pain he was in—with his cries and whimpers being the things that (thankfully) gave him away.
He was found covered - head to toe - in fleas. Layer upon layer of bacteria is coating his body; he hardly has any fur left. And though the full extent of his medical needs is yet to be discovered, Samson's initial diagnostics confirmed a number of things. Namely, he is dealing with SEVERE Mange, from which he has also developed a secondary skin infection on top of it. Together, they have overtaken this poor boy in his entirety—spanning from tip-to-tail.
