X-rays revealed that, in addition to a severely fractured leg, Tilt's pelvis has been brutally dislocated—so much so that there were multiple bone fragments - basically swimming - loose and free in his body. And not only did this strip Tilt of any mobility he had, but it also caused him an incredible, unimaginable amount of pain.
Together, Tilt's dislocated pelvis and shattered leg left his body so badly damaged that amputation of the leg was his only viable option - due to the location and severity of the fracture. However, we knew that if Tilt was truly “feral,” it would mean that amputating his leg and releasing him back into a colony outdoors would put him at a definite disadvantage. Thus, euthanasia slowly crept into the picture as a humane option.
But THEN we got our first bit of GOOD news - per the Good Samaritan who trapped him and took him to the ER (and who is now, actually, his foster momma!) - he is accepting of being handled and touched. What’s more, Tilt actually seemed accustomed to humans - both being around them, and interacting with them - almost as if he’d been dropped off in the feral colony, some time ago.
We had his leg amputated, and the important thing is, as of now, little Tilt is recovering in his foster home, where he's doing so, so much better—physically AND emotionally! ❤️ He will remain on strict crate/bed-rest for the next few weeks to heal his broken pelvis, and with the help of his foster mama, has already begun to gain confidence and spunk!
Tilt needs a LOT of help, but with a little time and plenty of patience and support, this special cotton-ball of fluff and pure, pure Love WILL have the BEST Second Chance ever. We’ll make sure of that! Please keep Tilt in your prayers, and if you can, please consider donating to his medical treatments and recovery care. Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

This precious boy is Tilt, who came to One By One Animal Rescue as a stray. His condition is heart-wrenching, and his suffering is clear—written plain as day across his face.
Sadly, it's likely that before his rescue, Tilt lived like this for quite some time. And unfortunately, he was in so much pain that he doesn't want to be touched too much, much less caught – making saving him incredibly tricky. He had to be trapped, before then being taken to an emergency vet where he was sedated to undergo X-Rays, as well as treated with antibiotics and pain medications.
