Today, our life-saving mission is under serious threat. We are in the midst of an unparalleled crisis, faced with a daunting debt of $15,000 and a growing number of heart-wrenching medical cases that need immediate attention. But to us, these cases are more than statistics—they are living, breathing beings with names, stories, and futures that hang in the balance.
Take Bramble, a wide-eyed 'lil baby only 6 months old, yet dealing with a broken leg—a leg that requires a $3,800 surgery to fix. Or Luna, our tiny sweetie who'd become a (barely) breathing skeleton beneath thick, matted fur—struggling to keep her food down despite multiple $4,000 evaluations. The Great Pyrenees, named Nadia who's missing fur and barely half her weight.
Each day brings with it new cases, new challenges, and more lives to save—most recently, an "SOS" litter of 6 Parvovirus-positive puppies (of which only 3 survived), a second Parvovirus case, and a cat needing medical attention. And we can't forget our long-term residents, Lina, Senior Pumpkin, Carina, Charlie, Allie, Dale, Olaf, and Olga—all of whom require ongoing medical treatments.
Through partnerships with reputable rescues, generous donations, and invaluable assistance from platforms like CUDDLY, we have created a lifeline for animals in dire need. But as it stands right now, the urgency of our current financial situation threatens to sever that lifeline. These extraordinary medical needs, coupled with our already significant operating costs of nearly half a million dollars last year, have placed a tremendous strain on our finances.
The urgency of our current financial situation threatens to sever that lifeline, but we refuse to turn our backs on the voiceless souls that depend on us. We believe in our mission – to be the bridge for Second Chances, for countless deserving animals. But we cannot achieve this without an Army of help. So today, we are not just asking for a donation or a share. We are PLEADING for a lifeline—a beacon of hope for those who have no voice, and no other advocates to fight for them. This mission is a huge undertaking, yes. But while undeniably daunting and maybe to some, even seemingly impossible, this mission is one that is WELL worth it. Because saving these lives – saving even one life – is so very worth it.
Please consider contributing to our mission. Every donation—whether it's $5 or $25—brings us one step closer to surmounting this financial mountain and ensuring we can continue providing our essential services. Your support doesn't just fund surgeries or cover veterinary bills—it breathes hope into every whimper, every wagging tail, and every pair of trusting eyes that come through our doors. It allows animals like Bramble, Luna, and the countless others who depend on us, to experience not just normalcy, but love and care they've never known before.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. It's because of you that we can keep up the fight, one animal at a time. ❤️

One By One Animal Advocates (OBOAA) began as a labor of love, driven by the belief that every life—2 legged or 4—is worth fighting for. Our journey into animal welfare, and thus, the beginnings of our Rescue, started 10 years ago; after bearing witness to the increasingly heartbreaking reality animal shelters are facing—and the skyrocketing numbers of euthanizations that sadly, but inevitably, come with it.
Over the last decade, OBOAA has successfully rescued and rehabilitated over 30,000 innocent, at-risk souls—all of whom went from having uncertain fates to the warmth of a loving family. But the road to getting each and every respective animal to their Furevers is unique—a road that is (as we've come to see with rescue sweeties) riddled with challenges, more often than not. Every tail wag, every gentle purr, every look of gratitude in their eyes - these are the moments that drive us, reminding us of the importance of our mission. But today, we are facing a crisis of a magnitude we've never seen before.
