Spring is here, and so are the newborns! Kitten Season is upon us, and PVAS is receiving litter after litter of unweaned kittens either abandoned by their mothers or picked up by community members. We need your help keeping these babies warm and their bellies full.
Each year, Palm Valley Animal Society foster parents care for nearly 1,500 unweaned kittens and puppies that come through our doors. With so many kittens coming in, we're in desperate need of supplies like kitten and puppy milk replacement, bottles, and heating pads.
As an influx of kittens are born in the RGV over these next few months, kitten season is an excellent time for the community and the shelter to work together. You can support PVAS and the RGV community by donating extra supplies and raising awareness about kitten season!
The foster program at PVAS has always been an incredible outlet to engage the public in helping shelter animals and to keep the most vulnerable animals out of the shelter. With such a vast number of kittens and puppies, more fosters than usual are needed, and supplies have run short. Providing fosters with the tools they need to care for animals helps more people foster, which helps more animals - it will help us save more lives.
Please consider donating an item or two from our wishlist to help provide care for the many neonatal pets we have - and the many more who will come through our doors after them.
