Rescue life is full of crazy twists and turns that no one can predict, but when your veterinary clinic calls and asks if you'd be willing to take in a puppy with a severely broken leg and you're already headed in for appointments that afternoon what else can you say other than yes? Her original owners had declined all treatment and were going to opt to have her euthanized instead if a rescue was not willing to take her in.

We had asked if the clinic would help us fundraise for the necessary surgery, and when they backed out on their word we turned to Cuddly for help with her surgery costs. Her femur was broken in multiple places with a spiral fracture and it was in her best interests to amputate her leg as soon as possible.

Trinity was lethargic, depressed, and hardly wanted to move or do anything in the first few days we had her. Until the morning after her amputation. Within 24 hours of her surgery she as trying to sprint across the yard, and she gave all the sass in the world when I tried to help her down the steps with a sling.

She was adamant she was fine and could do everything herself, without my help.

Over the next several months she healed, built her core strength, and started wrestling other puppies in the mud after the rains.

Eventually, she was adopted by a nice retired couple that moved into a townhome with a dog park down the street she walks to almost every day to plan and run with her new life on 3 legs, proving daily that tripod dogs can have just as happy of a life as dogs with four legs.
