Riddle

At just nine weeks old, tiny kitten Riddle faced a nightmare beyond imagination after being flung callously from a bridge into the chilling embrace of the Mulberry River. A survivor in body, yet broken in spirit, Riddle clawed his way to the shore, a testament to his sheer will to live. However, Riddle's hardships didn't end there. Pneumonia, a silent threat, had taken hold of Riddle, making it hard for him to breathe. Fortunately, this little kitten had come into our care shortly after his terrible brush with death.

After being rushed to the vet, X-rays revealed the hidden trauma to his lungs. He was on four medications, all in an effort to help him recover. His case was urgent and he was being carefully monitored around the clock by a dedicated medical team. Through the summer, Riddle continued to fight for his life. New medications and treatments were employed after seeing little change with the original regimen. The infection had spread to his eyes, creating a new host of problems. Things were looking grim, but we weren't ready to give up on this little boy just yet, so he continued to fight alongside him.

After an incredible effort from medical staff, volunteers, and Riddle himself, this sweet little boy miraculously began to improve. By October, Riddle was doing so much better, and we had ever more good news...he had an interested adopter! The only problem was that Riddle's adopter was in Washington state, quite a ways away from where we were in Arkansas. However, we had already gotten Riddle this far, and we were determined to get him all the way to his forever home. We were able to secure a volunteer transporter and raise the funds for his travel. Before we knew it, Riddle was on his way!

What makes this story even more amazing is that Riddle's adopter had heard about his story after reading his CUDDLY campaign. She felt a strong connection to this sweet boy and knew that if he survived his illness, she wanted to give him a forever home. After passing through a whopping seven states, Riddle finally arrived in Washington, where he was enthusiastically greeted by his new mom. We could not have been happier to send Riddle off to start his new life, and we wish nothing but happiness for our brave little boy who beat the odds and made it home.
