Fuzzy Friends Pet Food Pantry

Fuzzy Friends Pet Food Pantry has come to be known as an invaluable resource among the members of our community. Fuzzy Friends Pet Food Pantry has been helping low-income families feed their furry friends for the past 15 years. Founded in 2008 with the goal of keeping pet families together by providing dog and cat food to individuals struggling to make ends meet, Fuzzy Friends has become a valued and respected resource in their North Carolina community. Fuzzy Friends founder John Lockwood noticed that low-income pet owners were surrendering their beloved animals to shelters when they became unable to provide the food and medical care needed to keep their pets safe and fed at home. 

Tragically, overcrowded shelters often lead to unnecessary euthanization of healthy animals. John saw the need for a resource that law-income pet owners could turn to in order to keep their pets out of shelters and off the streets. Financial hardship is enough burden to bear. We could not imagine being put in the situation of being forced to give up a pet, so often a source of comfort and companionship, during such a difficult time. Fuzzy Friends Pet Food Pantry ensures that no pet goes hungry and pet families can stay together regardless of their financial situation. We are incredibly proud of the life-saving work that we have done over the past 15 years.

One of the many community members our organization has helped is a veteran who would have otherwise been unable to feed his task-trained service dog. This is an individual who is in a wheelchair and depends on his animal to carry out everyday tasks. When picking up a recent bag of supplies, he broke down in tears and expressed to us his sincere gratitude. It is truly thanks to our CUDDLY donors that we are able to continue to serve as a lifeline for pet families such as this man and his dog. With the help of our invaluable supporters, we have provided 48,976 meals to animals in need.

We are overcome with emotion just thinking of the impact we have been able to have, but we have our sights set on the future. In just a few months, we will be able to take our organization to the national level, helping pet families in need across the country from being forced to give up their beloved animals. This is a mission we are incredibly passionate about, and we would not be anywhere close to meeting this goal without your support. We still have a ways to go, but we know that with the help of the CUDDLY community, there is nothing we cannot accomplish. We want to express our deepest thanks to all those who have helped us get to where we are today.
