Jack Frost

Not too long ago, Jack Frost found himself convulsing in a ditch as his fragile body began to wither away. Just as he was about to give up, his story took a turn for the better when a compassionate Good Samaritan discovered the pitiful sight of his shivering frame and rushed him to the shelter, we were met with a heartbreaking sight. 

Jack Frost was a mere wisp of life at barely around a year old and weighing a meager nine pounds. Convulsing from hyperthermia, hairless, overgrown nails, pale-white gums indicating anemia, too weak to even lift his head, and his protruding ribs were a haunting testament to the brutal journey he's endured. Not to mention the unbearably itchy skin infections ravaging his already fragile body.

The road to recovery was a gradual process, but not even a couple weeks after we first took this poor boy in, you could see that he was progressing. Jack was steadily regaining his health, with small but promising sprouts of hair emerging and life returning to his eyes. This gentle, sweet boy continued to endure the pain with incredible resilience. But then, around mid-December, his immune system buckled under the weight of his condition, and he was once again on the brink - this time with a nasty cold. 

After several days of holding our breaths, on December 20th, Jack Frost makes his victorious debut into recovery! With an added dose of vitamins and dedicated care, we ensured this boy got the support he needed to regain his strength and aid his damaged skin growth. We adored watching him snuggle in his CUDDLY blankets, burrowing within them for a cozy nap. As he approached the holidays, Jack Frost's spirits were high. 

After much pampering ahead of the new year, including medicated baths and antibiotics, his once bare and scabby skin was healed, and his fur was returning in large swaths, revealing a gorgeous brindle coat! He also regained his weight and looked absolutely lovely in his sweaters. It became extremely hard to believe that just a month ago, this poor boy was found near death in a ditch by the road. 

Jack Frost was released from our care and was able to get started in a foster home after the New Year, but he didn't last very long there because the second we put this sweetie up for adoption, he was picked by his foster family! Meant to be his temporary family, Samantha, and Andy called him a foster fail and ended up adopting him outright! Now Jack Frost is basking in the love of his forever family and cozying up with his paw-rents. We couldn't be happier for this love bug. 

To say we are blown away by the love and support our sweet and very deserving boy received along his journey would be an understatement. From the bottom of our hearts, we cannot thank each and every one of you enough for supporting our boy. Every dollar, supply, and share has put him one step closer to recovery and for that, we cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for our CUDDLY fam!
