Gentle Bonnie has had quite an adventure. Her story begins grim—she was struck by a car and sent flying, the impact shattering her hip and breaking two of her legs. Fortunately, we found her in the nick of time and brought her to the doors of her rescue, where her journey to healing began. Today, we are elated to share that she has been lovingly adopted and has fully recovered—read her lovely story below!

Bonnie’s journey to healing was far from easy. When we initially found her trembling on the roadside, her condition was critical. Our team scooped her up and rushed her to our vet clinic for urgent care. We weren’t even sure if we’d be able to save her legs, but we held onto the hope that we could. 

Upon arrival, the medical team worked swiftly, administering crucial pain relief and scheduling a prompt surgery with an orthopedic specialist. Bonnie endured the procedure like a champ, and thanks to the steadfast efforts of the team, her legs were spared.

But the surgery cost a daunting $8,000, and Bonnie still had weeks of rehabilitation and recovery ahead of her. We sent out a plea for help on CUDDLY, desperate for funds, and boy, did y’all deliver! In almost no time, the support flooded in, helping us pay off our outstanding bill and give our full support and attention to Bonnie. 

Post-surgery, Bonnie's condition improved at an astounding rate. Just days after the procedure, she was strong enough to take small steps and was soon discharged from the hospital, a huge milestone! To say we were overjoyed is quite an understatement. At our rescue, things only continued getting better—she started with short walks and journeyed further and further each time. There was no doubt that she was still recovering, but we knew she’d be back to running and playing in no time. 

The beautiful day came when a family reached out, wanting to welcome Bonnie into their lives. She spent the next two weeks recovering, then happily joined their home on February 28, 2025. We are just so incredibly happy for her and this beautiful new beginning. And it’s all thanks to your unwavering support that we were able to make this possible.
