Maison Louis (FKA Kai)

Abandoned in his hour of need, this mange-ridden puppy was tied to a tree & left for dead by his owners. Maison Louis (FKA Kai) was in excruciating pain as his entire body was plagued with a horrific burning sensation. He had all up but given up hope of finding relief.  

It is hard to imagine that anyone could have left sweet young puppy Maison Louis alone and afraid, crying for help, and yet, that is exactly what happened to this poor little boy. He was discovered with his head hanging low in a state of utter despair. His eyes were filled with pain, and to behold this fragile boy was to be completely heartbroken. Maison Louis was left with only a shallow bowl of water and a rough, old towel. We have no idea how long this sweet angel waited for someone to come along and help him, but we do not doubt that it must have felt like an eternity.

How many people had walked past Maison Louis, ignoring his desperate whimpers, before we finally were alerted to his situation? We quickly got this boy in to see our trusted vet partner, who got a treatment underway ASAP. 

According to the vet’s recommendations, we started giving this sweet boy regular medicated baths, alongside oral and topical medication, to help heal his aching skin. In just a couple of weeks, we started noticing a difference in this sweet boy’s demeanor and physical state. Maison Louis made incredible strides on his road to recovery. After being discharged from the vet, he's transformed both in appearance and spirit, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our community and the skilled veterinary team. Your generosity was crucial in getting him to this point. 

Finally, at the beginning of this month, we noticed Maison Louis’ hair rapidly regrowing. He was blossoming, playing, and letting his tongue hang out of his mouth like he didn’t have a care in the world. 

About ten days later, on the 13th of February—we got the news. Maison Louis was going home! Despite challenges with house training and basic manners, Maison Louis embarked on a trial adoption a few weeks ago with a compassionate human and her rescue dog. 

After careful consideration, it was a perfect match, and Maison Louis is now living his best life with his new family. We're incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Maison Louis on his journey and helped make this happy ending possible. Thank you for your donations and for believing in second chances.
