Greta

Greta was malnourished—a mere 5lb—when she was abandoned by her owners at a local shelter. 

Not only was she suffering utter neglect and hunger, she was in agony with a broken heart, too. She yearned for a forever home where she would be well taken care of and her loyalty wouldn’t make her vulnerable and weak.

When we found out that this sweet one was on the brink, we immediately stepped in and brought Greta to the safety of our rescue. We committed ourselves to giving this girl a second chance after she was so cruelly denied her first. We got her in to see a vet and immediately addressed her weight and malnourishment. 

With your kindness and dedication to donating to her medical fund, Greta, our resilient girl, began to show signs of thriving. She was beaming, having received the love and care she hadn’t known for so long. A lot of her weight was regained, which helped her improve her overall stamina and functionality. 

During this time, we also got to see her playful side! Greta showed such an eagerness to play, which is typically only witnessed in puppies! She was joyful, running around, chasing pups in our care who were MUCH larger than her, and being adorable overall. Her once-shy demeanor transformed entirely. We knew she was nearing the time when she’d be ready for her forever home. 

So, just right before the holidays, when we decided to follow through on an application we received for this girl that felt fitting, we sent Greta off into the loving arms of her NEW FAMILY! They are SO welcoming and have even graced Greta with TWO siblings! She sure has come far from the skinny little girl in our shelter. We are SO happy for her. This is Greta’s second chance, and we couldn’t be more excited. 

Here’s to Greta and her new humans who absolutely adore her. Thanks to you, Greta is now safe and sound in loving arms. Wahoo!
