Koala has fought tooth and nail to overcome her past after someone deemed her unworthy and cruelly mutilated her ears while also inflicting abuse upon her face and neck. Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure her comfort and to heal her body from the infection that took hold after the abuse. This is Koala’s redemption story.

On top of having to deal with the bloody and terrible trauma of her abuse, Koala was also exposed to Babesia, a tickborne disease that attacks a pup’s blood. We worried about her ability to fight this cruel parasite, considering her weakened state. 

Luckily, with the help of donors like you on CUDDLY, Koala's body responded beautifully to the medication. Her inflammation came down throughout her body, a natural response to fighting this parasite off on her own.

Moreover, her bone marrow regeneration did great. She produced the appropriate amount of blood cells, which helped her fare better than most with the often life-threatening condition. The remainder of her bloodwork began, at that point forward, to show signs of returning to normal.

This girl has fought through being on the verge of leaving us MULTIPLE times; vets took one look at her bloodwork and suggested the possibility of giving up after unsuccessful blood transfusions and incompatible blood matches, yet Koala persisted. She wasn’t about to give up. She wanted to LIVE and felt the love and support of all of you behind her.

At that moment, we immediately opened up applications for her adoption, and wouldn’t you know it, she was scooped up ASAP! It wasn’t even hard to find her perfect match; she had so many families who wanted to call her their own. We picked the perfect paw-rents out of the bunch, who are sure to love Koala with everything they’ve got and take care of her body and soul so she never has to feel alone again.
