TW: Sexual Assault & Abuse

Once subjected to unimaginable cruelty, Noelle has since been given the chance to pave her own path from pain to healing. Her story is a testament to the restorative powers of dignity, respect, and humanity.

This poor girl experienced severe trauma before she was rescued. When we found her, she was struggling with a horrifically injured leg and showed all signs of sexual assault. She was discovered in a garage where she ran away to, seeking refuge with a stranger. Noelle's injuries had us seeing red. Her anus bore the cruel marks of a soul-shattering violation to the most heinous degree possible. It still makes us sick to our stomachs to think about what she had endured.

Her progress began in December after a 9-day ICU stint when we hospitalized her after her injuries led to a life-threatening infection. Over the next few weeks, Noelle showed us her incredible fighting spirit. Her condition stabilized, and although she faced setbacks like vomiting and a swollen eye, she responded well to treatments, receiving anti-nausea medicines and special medications for her eye. 

By January, things took a sharp turn when she started hiding and crying out in pain, which led to an emergency vet visit revealing swollen kidneys and a high fever. Intensive care followed, and further tests showed improvement. Her biggest challenge came at the end of January when she was diagnosed with pyometra, an infection that necessitated immediate surgery. 

Recovery was tough but successful, and Noelle started to be able to see the sunshine through the clouds, becoming the spirited kitten she once was, free from pain. With each day that she felt more empowered and independent in her healing, Noelle’s nurturing nature came to the forefront, and she even became a maternal figure to other kittens at her temporary home with our founder and director, who personally took on this sweet girl’s care due to the horrific nature of her trauma. 

By April, Noelle’s transformation was so profound and it was clear that this girl was thriving in the care of our founder/director. When the time came to decide if we should put Noelle up for adoption, we came to the realization that Noelle had been at home all alone. Yup, that’s right, Noelle is going to stay put as a PERMANENT family member of our founder and director’s flock. 

Noelle's resilience rewrote her destiny, turning her once sorrowful days into a heartwarming saga of survival and love. But it was YOU, our amazing, animal-loving community, who made it possible for us to provide Noelle the space to heal and thrive. Thanks to your generosity through CUDDLY, we were able to quite literally save a life from the brink of death. Every contribution, big and small, helped secure a happy ending for this deserving girl. 

Now we celebrate with Noelle, who is happy, healthy, and thriving in her forever home. She is surrounded by the love that had been missing for so long in her previous life. She wakes up every day feeling cared for, respected, and adored. We cannot express how overjoyed we are at this transformation. Here’s to Noelle!
