Our Food Drive

In a critical moment, our rescue faced a severe crisis; we were just one day away from having bare shelves, with food supplies completely depleted. Within just a matter of months, the influx of lost or abandoned dogs under our roof caused our resources to plummet faster than expected. With 200+ dogs in our care, consuming about 120 pounds of food each day, or 3600 pounds per month, we grew desperate for help. Many of these dogs have endured horrible pasts filled with neglect and abandonment and now depend on us for safety and nourishment. On top of all of this, our rescue assists several hoarding cases throughout our community, which require vital resources.

Urgently, we sent out a plea for help on CUDDLY, holding onto the hope that someone would come across our campaign and lend a gracious hand. No matter how big or small, anything would greatly help. As we used our very last bag of food to feed the hungry pups, our hearts wrenched. We had no idea whether we would receive enough support to continue our mission. The situation was nothing short of dire. 

Remarkably, the CUDDLY community soon responded with overwhelming kindness and generosity! Shipments of food were soon in route, ensuring that the animals not only survived but thrived under our care. This influx of support transformed what could have been a catastrophic scenario into one of hope and renewal. As donations flooded our inboxes, we leaped for joy, ecstatic that there are so many wonderful people in this world who care for these sweet pups as much as we do. 

As the crates of food and supplies arrived at our doors, our team members were moved to tears. Our shelves are now fully stocked, providing immense relief to all of us at North Star Rescue. The generous contributions fueled a rejuvenated spirit among everyone here at our rescue and, most importantly, the dogs themselves. With tummies full and hearts warmed, each dog wagged their tails joyfully, bounding playfully across our fields. Today, these dogs no longer face the imminent threat of hunger but instead, have a hopeful future filled with loving homes.
