Bono, along with a group of abandoned Italian Greyhounds, were found on the brink of death, starving to the point that their ribs were visible beneath their brittle skin. But thanks to a heroic rescue mission and YOUR generous donations, these pups now have a chance at a new life. Their transformations are nothing short of miraculous.

In early April, Protect Animals Worldwide made a heartbreaking discovery: five emaciated dogs were clinging to life after being abandoned by a pet store owner who hadn’t fed them in over a MONTH! With nothing but rainwater to sustain them, they were left to endure unimaginable suffering. Tragically, one of the dogs had already succumbed to starvation, forcing the remaining four into a desperate fight for survival. When we finally rescued them, we provided them with the life-saving care they desperately needed. But the journey ahead would certainly be long and fraught with challenges.

Among the rescued was Bono, a sweet-natured Doberman in CRITICAL condition. Due to his alarming state, he stayed within the care of our rescue while the other three Greyhounds went to their loving foster homes for their ongoing treatment. Bono’s tail was severely infected, and he was battling a high level of anemia. But despite the odds, Bono's spirit remained unbroken. Under the care of a dedicated team of specialists, Bono underwent surgery to amputate his infected tail, and he received the treatments necessary to fight his illnesses. Slowly but surely, this sweet boy began to show signs of steady improvement.

But the road to recovery was far from easy. Bono faced a serious setback when a parasite was discovered in his system, but thankfully we noticed it soon enough that he was treated promptly. With every passing day, Bono grew stronger, gaining weight and regaining the vitality he had lost during his time of neglect. We were just so happy for him and elated to watch as he carefully transformed into the dog we always knew he was, deep inside.

By mid-April, the other dogs rescued alongside Bono began to show signs of recovery, too. Galack’s leg fracture was skillfully repaired, while Mabel and Rafaela overcame their anemia and infections with constant care. Each dog’s progress was absolutely incredible to witness, and we couldn’t wait to witness them thrive in their new, forever homes, which we had a feeling were just around the corner.

And we were right.

As April drew to a close, the happiest news arrived: Bono, now healthy and strong, found his forever family! He went from the brink of death to being a happy and joyful pup, graciously soaking up all the love he had always yearned for! The Greyhounds—Stella, Rafaela, and Mabel—also found their own loving homes, where they are now thriving and living out their dream lives!

Bono's story, along with the stories of his fellow survivors, is a heartwarming reminder of the difference we can make in the lives of animals in need. It’s because of YOUR generous support through CUDDLY that dogs like Bono can find their way to happiness and new beginnings. Thank you SO much for being a part of their journey to a better life. It truly means the world to both us, and them.
