 Penny, a two-year-old Boxer, arrived in our care weighing a mere 28 pounds due to sheer negligence. Now, thanks to our dedicated team and your loving support, Penny's life has transformed, and she is living joyfully in a loving home. Penny was once trapped in the midst of a heartbreaking situation. Her previous owners had severely neglected her, refusing to feed or properly care for their pup. Penny dropped to a startling 28 pounds, about 40 pounds underweight. Surrendered by her owners in early October, we swiftly stepped in to save the life of his poor, skin-and-bone girl.

Swiftly, we brought Penny to the hospital. Her frame was alarmingly skeletal, and she shuddered with every step. Penny was immediately hospitalized and put on fluids to combat her debilitating dehydration. With round-the-clock care, her medical team initiated a comprehensive evaluation and mapped out the rehabilitation journey ahead. 

In the days that followed, Penny's resilience shone brightly. Her recovery was a gradual process, as she needed consistent nourishment and attention. For so long, she had been neglected of basic care, including love. Each day, under the watchful eyes of devoted caretakers, Penny began gaining steady weight and strength, her bright nature shining through. Right before our eyes, this precious girl began to transform into the beautiful Boxer she always had been!

By mid-October, Penny was not just surviving but thriving. Her once-feeble body grew stronger, and she found joy in simple pleasures like fresh air, sunshine, and the company of fellow rescue animals. Her journey of healing reached a beautiful milestone when a kind family, experienced in caring for rescued dogs, lovingly adopted her, offering Penny the forever home she so rightfully deserved.
