Lucinda, once an abandoned golden retriever on the harsh streets of Egypt, had a challenging start to life. Starving and alone, her plea for help went unnoticed until a miracle brought her the rescue she desperately needed. Read on to discover her heartwarming transformation from despair to a beautiful, forever home.

Lucinda's story began in Alexandria, Egypt, where she was callously overlooked each and every day. As a young golden retriever, she was abandoned by the very owners who were meant to protect her. With no resources or survival skills, she wandered, lost, and emaciated, dangerously close highways. She was just a little puppy pleading for help! Fortunately, before long, rescuers found her, and months of tender care, medical treatment, and nurturing followed.

Our rescue partners worked tirelessly to support this sweet, malnourished baby. As Lucinda healed physically, she also began to trust people again, her spirit rejuvenated and light filling her once-sorrowful eyes. Her transformation was so profound that she became a beacon of hope for others. But her journey was not over just yet. She needed to find safety, which would only be made possible if she journeyed overseas. 

With her health restored, Golden Rescue South Florida found Lucinda a loving forever home in the United States. As May 14, 2024, approached, the final logistics to transport her to Florida were meticulously planned. It was difficult to say goodbye to such a beautiful, loving pup, but we knew that this was the absolute best path for her. We knew we had to send her away from Egypt to give her a chance at a new, wonderful life.

Lucinda's flight had a layover in New York before the final leg to Orlando, Florida. Her travels lasted two long days, each moment bringing her closer to safety. She stepped off the plane and into the loving arms of her forever family, who graciously welcomed her. Today, she is cherished and spends her days surrounded by love. She enjoys warm hugs, lounging outside, and going on adventures with her family.
