Polly Pocket was once a 7-pound, frail pup suffering from severe sarcoptic mange, a discomforting eye infection, and life-threatening amenia. Found on the streets of Corpus Christi, Texas, completely alone, the beginning of her story is nothing short of tragic. Today, thanks to life-saving intervention and YOUR generous support, she is thriving, healthy, and full of life!

When this precious Chihuahua mix was originally found, she was hardly even recognizable as a dog. When she was brought to the local shelter by animal control, it was clear that she needed immediate rescue intervention to survive. That’s when Kanines and Kitties rose to the occasion and took Polly in a desperate attempt to save her!

But Polly's condition was heart-wrenching: her emaciated body struggled for every breath, her bare skin was exposed and tormented, and her eyes were dim with infection. We prepared for her arrival with a mix of determination and compassion, initiating treatments with antibiotics and special medicated shampoos. She settled into her loving foster home, where we began intensive medical care. Day by day, Polly's health improved, and her spirited self gradually began to blossom. Despite everything she had been through, life was finally looking up for her.

Steadily gaining weight and strength, Polly Pocket's steadfast transformation was nothing short of remarkable. Within weeks, her mange faded away to a mere memory, and patches of hair started to regrow on her head and back. Her playful and silly nature soon re-emerged, painting a stark contrast to the frail dog once curled in a ball on the streets, her skin crusted over in disease. 

After many weeks of recovery, Polly had a routine vet check-up, where she was medically cleared and prepared for her spay procedure. This moment marked a significant milestone in her journey from suffering to healing. Following her spay and further recuperation, she transitioned to a new foster home, bringing her one step closer to finding her forever family!

Shortly after this, Polly’s story reached a beautiful conclusion: she got adopted! She was relocated to Michigan with a rescue partner and quickly settled into her new environment. On a beautiful Sunday, Polly was welcomed into her forever home, where she now thrives and enjoys a loving, happy life. She will never be subject to such torment ever again.
