Ambra was initially found as a stray in Albania, struggling with a severe eye injury that was swollen and constantly bleeding. Fortunately, she was quickly rescued, and soon began her recovery journey. Now, she is living happily in her forever family, thanks to you. Discover how this spirited pup overcame her challenges and found endless happiness!

This sweet girl spent her early life navigating the harsh streets of Albania, searching desperately for food or shelter. Her life then took a grim turn when she suffered a devastating injury to her left eye, the exact cause still unknown. The eye's rupture led to consistent bleeding and agonizing swelling, making every day a grueling struggle. For so long, all she knew was pain as countless people walked past, ignoring her hard battle. Would life always be this way?

In December 2022, Ambra's fate changed when she was discovered curled up in a ball on the side of the road. She was gingerly lifted from the cold ground and immediately taken to an emergency animal hospital. While there, the critical decision was made to perform eye enucleation surgery to remove the damaged eye entirely. However, before this could happen, she needed stabilization through antibiotics, multivitamins, anti-inflammatories, and pain management. Blood tests were conducted to ensure she was fit for surgery, which eventually, she was!

After her successful surgical procedure and ample recovery from anesthesia, with no complications, Ambra's journey of healing truly began. She was transported to Northern Italy and placed in paid boarding until she could find her forever home or even a kind foster to take her in. Throughout those next few months, Ambra underwent routine medical check-ups to ensure that her progress remained on track. These involved visits to an ophthalmologist and further tests to confirm treatment efficacy.

Despite the challenges of her past, Ambra soon blossomed into the joyful, playful pup that she always had been deep inside. She relished in her new toys, soaking up this new, pain-free life. For all of her years, she had likely never known love or anything close to it. We were just so thrilled to see her so happy, at long last! Ambra’s journey to recovery then came to a beautiful close when she found her forever home, with a loving family who promised to shower her with love and care and always keep her safe!
