Margot

Once an abandoned, fragile puppy clinging to life and suffering from severe ailments, Margot was rescued and nursed back to health. Her story is truly remarkable, and we are still deeply blown away at her incredible transformation. Margot is now thriving happily in her forever home, recovering well, thanks to you.

Margot's journey began when she was found all alone on the streets, barely a month old and weighing only 560 grams. She lay helplessly on a busy sidewalk, covered in ticks and fleas, her tiny body too weak to move. It was through a compassionate individual and our dedicated vet network that Margot’s urgent need came to our attention, saving her from certain death. Without a moment of doubt, we welcomed her into our care.

Upon rushing her to an emergency hospital, it was discovered that this little pup was severely anemic and required a blood transfusion to even have a chance at survival. She was immediately tested for parvo and distemper, and it was a relief when the results came back negative. However, Margot faced numerous hardships at such a young age, including Lyme disease, a heavy worm infestation, and severe dehydration. She was so little, barely having experienced the world, and yet all she knew was hardship.

Despite these challenges, Margot had a healthy appetite and ate well, providing us with a glimmer of hope. She was carefully given supplements and medications to help speed up her lengthy recovery process. Her resilience paid off when she underwent a successful blood transfusion, which marked the official start of her recovery. Shortly after, her bloodwork showed remarkable improvement. This allowed for her catheter to be removed, and she no longer needed further transfusions.

Within a week of the transfusion, Margot moved to a loving foster home where she continued her treatment for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne disease. Within that nurturing environment, under the care of a trusted vet who had previously fostered another successfully rehabilitated dog, Margot flourished. After some adjustments to her treatment a month later, she was almost ready to start her vaccinations.

Eventually, the joyful day arrived when Margot was officially adopted by her foster mom who couldn't bear to part with her! Now, in a loving home with other dog siblings, Margot is living the joyful life she has always deserved. Her transformation from a vulnerable, frightened puppy to a vibrant and flourishing member of a family is nothing short of extraordinary. We are so endlessly happy for her and cannot wait for her to soak up her beautiful life ahead!
