Silver

This poor boy was initially discovered in a state so horrific that the mere sight immediately moved us to tears. But thanks to months of dedicated care and your generous support, Silver's pain is now a thing of the past; he has healed completely and is ready to begin his new, beautiful life with a loving family!

Abandoned on the streets and cruelly mistreated, Silver's face was partially destroyed, covered in gruesome wounds. Instead of being provided with the care he clearly needed, his wound was maliciously sprayed with silver paint. He suffered in silence for an unknown amount of time before our rescue team received an urgent call regarding his suffering. We responded with haste, swiftly racing to the scene.

Silver had lost one eye entirely, with the other swelling to an agonizing extent. He was terrified and reacted defensively to all who approached him, but who could blame him? He was living a nightmare, every day filled with misery. We had to sedate him just to assess his wounds and determine the best course of action. During his treatment, the veterinary team faced the daunting task of clearing dead larvae from his facial lesion. His blocked nostril made it difficult for him to breathe. Acting carefully, his wounds were thoroughly cleaned, and a detailed eye examination was performed. 

In a breakthrough procedure, surgeons performed a successful reconstructive surgery, carefully using skin from his neck to cover the wounds and inserting drains to aid in his healing. We are so impressed with the great job that the surgeons did, considering the original state of his face! His recovery was steady despite the intensity of the procedure, and each day brought hopeful progress. The inflammation of his remaining eye reduced significantly, and the drains were eventually removed. 

By the time Silver recovered from surgery, he no longer resembled the scared, injured dog we had rescued. He fought off the infection and anemia, and his wounds healed nicely. The swelling in his face had gone down significantly, and he was starting to look more and more like a happy, playful pup. Though his remaining eye requires lifelong eye drops due to the loss of a tear duct, it's a small routine compared to the vast recovery he made. Silver was also neutered and vaccinated. To our amazement, in what felt like no time at all, he was ready for a new home!

We are now ECSTATIC to share that Silver has been lovingly adopted into his forever family! We cannot believe how good he looks after his hard life on the streets—he is so happy, so full of life!  We are just so very proud of him; he fought so hard despite it all and made it out on top! After everything Silver has endured, he deserves nothing less than this happy ending.
