Silver

This poor boy was initially discovered in a state so horrific that the mere sight immediately moved us to tears. A section of this face was partially missing, revealing flesh and bone, and some cruel humans had sprayed the wound with silver paint. The pain he endured is quite unimaginable, but thanks to months of dedicated care and your generous support, Silver's pain is now a thing of the past; he has healed completely and is ready to begin his new, beautiful life!

Silver's story began with a deeply distressing discovery. Abandoned on the streets and cruelly mistreated, his face was partially destroyed, the exact cause still a harrowing unknown. Instead of being provided with the care he clearly needed, his wound was maliciously sprayed with silver paint. He suffered in silence for an unknown amount of time before our rescue team received an urgent call regarding his suffering. We responded with haste, swiftly racing to the scene.

Silver had lost one eye entirely, with the other swelling to an agonizing extent. He was terrified and reacted defensively to all who approached him, but who could blame him? He was living a nightmare, every day filled with misery. We had to sedate him just to assess his wounds and determine the best course of action. During his treatment, the veterinary team faced the daunting task of clearing dead larvae from his extensive facial lesion. His blocked nostril made it difficult for him to breathe. Acting carefully, his wounds were thoroughly cleaned, and a detailed eye examination was performed. But this was just the beginning of Silver’s journey; he still had a long way to go.

In a breakthrough procedure, surgeons performed a successful reconstructive surgery, carefully using skin from his neck to cover the wounds and inserting drains to aid in his healing. We are so impressed with the great job that the surgeons did, considering the original state of his face! His recovery was steady despite the intensity of the procedure, and each day brought hopeful progress. The inflammation of his remaining eye reduced significantly, and the drains were eventually removed. While his eye condition remained delicate, different treatments were being trialed to save his vision. 

With constant love and care, Silver's transformation blossomed. Deep down, he is such a kind and resilient pup, and we are truly amazed at his strength through this difficult time. From a severely injured and terrified dog, he emerged fully healed, neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a bright future ahead. His fear is gone and has been replaced with endless joy. We are so happy for Silver and can’t wait for him to experience all of the good in store for him!
