When Jax was found, it was hard to believe such a small dog was subject to so much pain and torment. But we are thrilled to share that, thanks to our incredible vets and the support from our community, this sweet boy has transformed and is now thriving happily in his forever home! 

Poor Jax was abandoned on the streets at eight years old, barely hanging on after a lifetime of abuse and neglect. It pains us to even describe what happened to him; it was just so terrible. He was covered in filth, his fur matted and stained, and his eyes heavy with sorrow and exhaustion. 

The moment Jax was in our care, we rushed to the emergency vet, trying our best to swallow our shock, disgust, and tears. How could anyone treat an innocent life so horribly? Jax was diagnosed with severe renal failure from an Ehrlichia infection and had painful mouth ulcers. 

At only 15 pounds, he was dangerously underweight, fighting with everything he had left. Fortunately, the amazing team at Quail Crossing Animal Hospital jumped into action, giving Jax a life-saving blood transfusion and around-the-clock care. Thanks to their steadfast efforts, he had a fighting chance.

And then, something incredible happened—Jax made it through the night. That next morning, he was still kicking. This tiny spark of resilience was all we needed to believe Jax could, and would, fight this battle. Slowly but surely, Jax began to recover. He ate a little and even lifted his head. Day by day, his strength grew, amazing us all.

As the weeks turned into months, Jax’s transformation was nothing short of miraculous. His bloodwork improved, his weight went up, and his sweet personality started to shine. By the time he was ready for dental work and neutering, he was a completely different dog.

The happiest chapter of Jax’s story came when he found his forever family. They caught one glance at him and knew immediately that he was the one for them. Today, he’s surrounded by love, living the life every dog deserves. He’s healthy, happy, and full of joy—running, playing, and soaking up all the affection his new family gives him.

Jax’s journey from despair to delight is proof that every life is worth fighting for. And it’s all thanks to people like you.
