Sadie

Sadie was a tiny puppy found on the streets, completely alone, with a piece of her skull exposed. She was also malnourished and suffering from a flea infestation. Fortunately, through time, patience, and hope, she miraculously recovered and is now living happily with her forever family. Read on to learn more. 

Sadie's story began in the most heartbreaking way. When trying to figure out what might have happened to her, we can only come up with one heartbreaking conclusion: she was likely neglected, then abused, and a ruthless head injury changed her life forever. 

Fortunately, a kind person caught sight of this helpless baby and gingerly approached her. Sadie managed to walk toward the finder, even wagging her tail, as though she knew that help had finally come. The rescuer poured some food on the ground, which she gobbled up with haste, clearly starved. Carefully, the rescuer coaxed her into their open arms and alerted our Healing Heart Rehab, knowing that time was of the essence for this little baby.

Of course, we stepped up to help Sadie—there was no way that we were leaving her behind like this. We rushed over to take her into our care, hurrying her to our vet to begin medical treatment right away. The medical team mended her wound, stitching it up with sutures, and began treating her flea infestation and malnutrition through medications and nourishing food. Fortunately, they gave us a discounted rate, knowing that we were a rescue and that this baby’s life was on the line.

Following treatment, Sadie came back to the coziness of our rescue, where, day by day, her health improved. We paid close mind to her, as part of her skull had been missing. But we were hopeful that, because she was so young when the injury occurred, the skull would simply grow back, and she could live a happy and full life. Progress was slow but steady as her body began to heal. Her resilience truly amazed us all, and when the day came that her skin had drastically improved, we leaped for joy!

Sadie’s healing journey took a joyful turn when she had her sutures removed, indicating a full recovery. She began to enjoy running freely and playing happily, something she hadn’t been able to do while resting under our watchful eye. We were thrilled to announce that this sweet girl was officially ready for adoption and even posted her on CUDDLY’s adoption page!

Soon after, Sadie’s Christmas wish came true—she was lovingly adopted by an incredible family who vowed to always keep her safe, just in time for the holidays! She now enjoys her days filled with endless excitement and fun, cozying up with her forever family. We are just so happy for her and the progress she made through it all. Sadie is such a strong girl, and thanks to your help, she was able to win her fight.
