Golias

When this precious boy was flung out of a window, his head met the ground first. No one was certain whether he would survive. But through time, patience, and your gracious support, we turned his life around. Read on to learn how Golias went from being found at death’s door to healing fully and finding a cozy, loving home!

Golias’s story begins at the hands of neglect. He had been thrown from an apartment window—four staggering stories tall—by a three-year-old child who had been left alone. When the mother returned home, her pup was lying on the ground, screaming in pain, as neighbors scorned her for what had happened. She fled the scene before authorities could intervene, leaving Golias behind.

The devastating fall nearly claimed Golias’s life. Thankfully, it didn’t, but it left him with serious complications that would affect him for years to come. Some of the neighbors who witnessed the tragedy gathered around the struggling pup, heartbroken. One called our rescue, desperate for someone to help this now-abandoned boy. Without a moment to waste, we raced to the scene and hurried him to the animal hospital. There, he was immediately tended to.

It was soon discovered that Golias had sustained a serious head injury and had possible internal bleeding. The severity of his head trauma caused involuntary muscle movements, known as pedaling, and he had to be sedated immediately. We cannot even imagine how painful all of this was. Golias was likely so afraid.

Alongside the support of a neurologist, vets administered essential medications, and laser therapy was initiated to boost Golias' healing. Initially, he was unable to eat independently and required feeding through a syringe. The fall left him so fragile and weak. However, over time, he began to bravely nibble at some food, showing that he was on a steady track to recovery.

As the weeks went on, Golias showed remarkable resilience. With careful physiotherapy done twice a week, he regained some movement and strength. Each day, he managed to walk a little further and move without support for a bit longer. It was incredible to witness him overcome his past and put in the difficult work to heal and begin anew.

Just a few months later,  on August 18, 2024, Golias’ story came full circle when he was lovingly adopted! He is now thriving in his forever home, surrounded by comfort and love. You can see how happy he is just by looking at the attached photos! While he continues to see a neurologist for biweekly check-ups and physiotherapy sessions, he has made remarkable progress. Never again will this sweet boy be subject to so much pain and neglect, and it’s all thanks to you. We truly could not have made this possible without your support. ❤️
