Tears from Rescue

Roscoe was surrendered to a local shelter in January 2017, because he was not wanted anymore. He was adopted the next day by a person who neglected him. A family member took him out of there, and did the same thing! Roscoe needed daily eye drops for his dry eyes, and this simple care was not provided.

Six months later, he was blind because of neglect. His eyes were covered with dried gunk, stuck to his eyeballs. Sheree's Dog Rescue made it their mission to take him out of his unfortunate circumstances and give him the chance he truly deserved.

After making an appointment with the Veterinary Eye institute, he was given a flea bath. His severe neglect became so much more clear when a swarm of fleas came out from that gunk stuck to his eyeball.

This boy is in serious pain, but he is quick to offer kisses. He has a grade 4 heart murmur and his fur was so heavily matted for so long that his skin burned and itched him. It was hard for him to sleep and he would wake up only to cry to himself again. Roscoe was obviously scared and confused.

Roscoe had a long journey to recovery. He required both of his eyes to be removed, treatment for his skin, and coccidia. Today he healed and ready for a forever home. He is a big fan of cuddling on the couch and playing with his toys.
