Maximus Never Gave Up

After ruthlessly being run over by a reckless driver, Maximus' owners let him sit in agonizing pain for FIVE DAYS. For FIVE DAYS, doctors pleaded with Maximus' owners to let them pursue treatment. For FIVE DAYS, Hounds In Pounds pleaded with his owners to surrender him to them, so that he could receive care. And for FIVE DAYS, Maximus' owners refused. Rather than give the doctor consent to do treatment, his owner's insisted that he remain in medical boarding without treatment - AGAINST medical advice. They never came to see him in the hospital. Never called to check-in.

Poor Maximus was only 11 months old.

After the fifth day, he was legally considered stray and Hounds in Pounds was able to take over treatment for him. And all we can say was he's hurting - so bad. He's was not able to control his bladder and is constantly leaking all over himself. A catheter was placed to prevent urine burn but that was the least of his problems. He cried out when touched, despite pain medication.

Why his owners let him sit for FIVE days, without pursuing treatment, and refused various opportunities to get him help, is beyond us. But we're so thankful that he was saved and with CUDDLY's help, he was able to get the medical care he needed. Donors were able to contribute an amazing $1500 and were also able to send Maximus over 30 much-needed recovery items, like food and joint care!

Today, Maximus has made a full recovery and is walking with strength. He was even able to land himself a loving, caring, and FOREVER home just in time for the holidays! We couldn't be more grateful to everyone who helped get Maximus to this point.  Thank you forever.
