Takoda

As you can see Takoda has endured severe neglect; heartworm and tick disease, fluid in her stomach, broken teeth, wounds all over, and worst of all she has a shattered leg from a gunshot. Takoda did not deserve this inhumane abuse. By the looks of it, she has only known suffering all her life. Takoda spent many hours at the vet when she first arrived in her rescue's care. X-rays showed many pellets were still inside her very fragile body. She needed a full leg amputation and weekly vet visits for a long while during her time of recovery.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for donating to her CUDDLY Fundraiser and sending her goodies from her Wishlist. She has raised over $7000 which was $3000 over her campaign! This money will be able to help so many other dogs like her because she was able to raise so much.

Takoda is still visiting the vet weekly for her mange shots and bloodwork. Her bloodwork is still not fully normal and a bit all over the charts but the Dr. says it's nothing to be concerned about yet. We don't know if we will do the fast-kill heartworm treatment or amputation first, depending on the progress of her bloodwork.

This decision will be determined on June 4 when she sees the specialist. For now, we just need to keep doing what we are doing and taking her in weekly. Takoda is currently in good spirits and continuing her antibiotics and steroids as a pre-treatment. We want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who has sent funds and donated pet products. Takoda's case is severe and we couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you again for giving this sweet girl a second chance at life.
