Khaleesi

Meet Khaleesi? her story is one that will break your heart but her journey is one to remember forever.

This beautiful but neglected husky's owner saw no problem in letting her roam around, so her getting beaten by strangers could have been easily avoided. Not only that - the owner even admitted that this pup had been SHOT before... and the bullet was still in her knee when she was discovered by rescuers? What astounded us the most was that the owner saw no problem with letting her roam, and didn't care about the consequences. To think that someone beat this poor pup, who was roaming as she had always done, and to this day we have no idea WHY or with what! Monsters hit her hard, and they hit her repeatedly, to the point of her pelvis being completely broken along with her tail. Khaleesi was obviously in a lot of pain and the owner said, "don't treat her, just euthanize." Rescuers couldn't believe it - but hearing her backstory, we definitely didn't expect more from this owner.

Thankfully, the rescue's vet called them, and Saving Animal Lives 24/7 said to immediately save her from this awful state. Khaleesi needed to have multiple surgeries to fix her broken bones as well as intensive rehabilitation. She was hospitalized right away and given meds; she has been to hell and back. All was because of the irresponsibility of someone who was supposed to be her family, her caregiver.

She ended up losing her tail AND being positive for heartworm BUT did beautifully during surgery, recovery, and therapy; so much as she can walk again and is getting better by the day. All because someone gave her a chance and believed in her. Khaleesi has been through so much but has also overcome so much; thanks to donors! Because of her fundraising, she was able to get the help she needed and more! We are so happy for this girl and wish only the best years moving forward!
