Dalia

When Dalia was abandoned by her owner in Mexico, she was a skeleton. She was so frail she could barely even stand. She had obviously been neglected and was living without two very necessary things for a very long time - food and love.

Calwear has taken on a ton of medical cases recently, but despite drowning in medical bills - they couldn't turn down a Weimaraner in need. They couldn't leave Dalia with the owner who deprived her of food, and they had to find someone who was willing to open their heart and their home to her. They HAD to ensure Dalia was going to be safe and well cared for. Dalia was not an easy case to take in. Rescuers knew she would require many trips to the vet to get better and that she was a Weimaraner whose time may be limited. They knew though, that she was strong and resilient - if anyone was going to get through this, it would be Dalia!

Dalia is 11 years old, but has a ton of life left in her. During the short time in her foster home, she had already transformed from a dog that would nip if you touched her anywhere, besides her head, to one that leaned super hard into your legs for pets on her sides. She couldn't stand when she came in, but with lots of yummy food and love, she began running when she would get excited, and sometimes right through guests' legs! She's even started playing and trying to roughhouse, we think she's a puppy at heart who had never actually been able to live out her puppy days as she should. Because of the heartfelt generosity of all of Dalia's CUDDLY fans, she made such a beautiful recovery. She put on weight and began blossoming into the beautiful senior Weimaraner that she is! And the news just keeps on getting better because Dalia also found her forever home!

A HUGE thank you to Dalia's wonderful foster who took care of her for months, Jennifer for taking over care until her FOREVER home was found, Pilots and Paws pilot, Sandy, and co-pilot, Wendy, for getting her there safely, and of course her CUDDLY supporters for all her kind donations to get her happy and healthy. It's a wonderful thing when the village comes together at CalWear and an older Weim finds her happy place because of it. Thank you for helping Dalia get the second chance that she deserved. Dalia's journey has just begun!
