Terpy Chance Balboa (Chance)

Rescuers at The HIT Living Foundation had discovered one-year-old Terpy Chance Balboa three hours outside of Tijuana and urgently rushed him to the emergency vet for fluids. No one knew if he would survive, but fortunately, Chance is a fighter and he beat all the odds stacked against him. 

Immediately upon arriving at the vet, all signs pointed toward Distemper. Chance was exhibiting twitching around his temples, a tick in his hind legs, and he could not stand. He had hundreds of papillomas in his mouth, which is a side effect of a virus, a large mass on his neck, and sores all over his weak body. 


Little by little, and day by day, Chance has been making remarkable improvements in his foster home. He has been receiving medications, weekly oat baths, and endless TLC to give him the strength to beat this nasty virus. Lo and behold with some good ole' TLC, Chance's mouth pustules are healing and getting smaller, he has more energy and started playing with toys, his back legs are getting stronger by the day, and his rash is finally starting to subside.

On top of Chance's remarkable improvement, we also have some exciting news to share and that's Chance's foster, Lindsey, has decided to adopt him! Ever since she welcomed him into her home, she couldn't imagine her life without him and just knew she needed to make him a permanent part of her family. She also took Chance on his first vacation where he was wheeled around on a special cart to get treated like the king he is. We couldn't be more excited that Chance found his forever home!
