While everyone else was busy opening presents on Christmas day with their families, Willow was stuck crying out in a coyote trap. This beautiful green-eyed kitty was the victim of a brutal and disgusting ‘sport' when she was found with her right leg caught in a spring trap. She was frightened after it snapped shut on her and she was covered in a blanket of snow. It breaks our hearts to think how frightened Willow must have been painfully waiting in the freezing cold for someone to save her.
The finders of sweet little Willow took her into their warm home and contacted Sacred Souls a few days later. When they took her in to get her bleeding leg cared for, she already had a severe infection accompanied by a high fever. She was admitted and scheduled for an amputation. She was sent home to her foster with pain medications, antibiotics, and fluids to keep her comfortable until her amputation surgery.
This once hurt and hungry kitty is now healed, surrounded by love, has all the pate she can eat, and she is THRIVING! Every day she is learning how to walk again and rescuers are on the sidelines cheering her on! It took about 5 months for her to accept rescuers and realize that she is safe and loved because of her past. The process definitely accelerated though once she met and bonded with another tripod kitty in the family named Sammi!
We cannot put into words how grateful we are for Willow's amazing CUDDLY supporters. Because of you all, rescuers were able to raise over $5,500 to go directly toward her care AND she received so many amazing wishlist items to aid in her recovery. You guys are the reason Willow is getting a second chance at life! From here on out, Willow will be forever safe and loved at the sanctuary where she will be spoiled and cherished for the rest of her life!
