Hazel's start out in life wasn't the greatest - but despite this, she found her forever family. And there wasn't a worry in the world until she recently went in for what should have been a standard procedure…

You see, six-month-old Hazel went in to get spayed. Her family was so thrilled to be adopting her and were simply going through the motions of fully vetting her. As she was getting ready for her spay, having her vitals checked, Hazel collapsed on site. Her doctor, seeing that she was a healthy dog and not having any reason to believe there was a concern, continued on spaying her, believing that she must have collapsed from the recently given rabies vaccine. And so, her spay was done and no one thought more of it.

Her family picked her up once she was ready to go home and sweet Hazel collapsed again in the car driving back. Not knowing what was going on but seeing her pale, weak state, her family rushed her back to the hospital and had Hazel undergo a second surgery to check for internal bleeding or issues. And although nothing was found, Hazel stayed pale and was transferred over to the ER vet, where she stayed overnight.

Diagnostics were done but doctors still couldn't figure what's wrong. They were suspicious that she may have some kind of blood disorder. POOR GIRL. Her levels were even so low during the night that a blood transfusion was done. Rescuers are so concerned for Hazel. This girl was just about ready to live in her forever home - and they can't stand the idea of NOT helping her get there.

Well...after a rollercoaster ride in trying to heal Hazel, we are happy to announce that we did it! Hazel is healthy and free of her past! And better yet, Hazel is living her best life with her forever human! She is going on fun trips with her adopter and it's a perfect love connection! Big thank you to everyone who made this happen and was a part of her journey!
