Kisses, a small baby Tayra, arrived at the Toucan Rescue Ranch the first week of December 2020, scared and incredibly hurt after being attacked by a dog.
When she arrived at Toucan Rescue Ranch, our vet team quickly proceeded to examine her for any signs of trauma.
Thankfully, the bites had missed any major arteries, but she was covered in ticks and needed time to recover and rest from the incident. After about a month of care in the vet clinic, she was ready to begin the rewilding program! She was placed in a large enclosure that was prepped with natural foraging materials that allowed her to develop her natural instincts.
By the beginning of February, Kisses was wild and big enough to get #backinthetrees where she was brought to the same area where she was found, but deeper in the rainforest to prevent another incident in the future, where she will live for the rest of her life.
Thank you to all who supported Kisses in her journey!
