Fury

Fury was surrendered to Kentucky Dachshund Rescue because his owners couldn't pay for his care. He was a young, 6 month or so old puppy, that was severely underweight, low blood cell count & anemic, painful lesions, malnourished and amaciated. His bloodwork and fecal tests came back normal, but doctors were puzzled at what was ailing him. After close observations, round-the-clock care and testing, the Doctors believed he was suffering from an autoimmune disorder & anemia. 

We faced mounting vet bills and low funds to supply Fury with the things every dog needs to thrive in his situation: special food, medication, vitamins, round the clock care, toys, etc. but our supporters came through!! With their generous support Fury was able to WIN THIS FIGHT and come out swinging!! He has made a FULL recovery and went on to get adopted and placed in a home where he can live out his days with his forever family. 

The greatest gift we receive as a Rescue is to see the light and life back in the eyes of these souls the came to us so beaten down, so tired, with all hope lost. To see them get to know the joy of play, to be loved, feel safe, and just be a dog, it's beyond rewarding. Fury's community gave him that!!
