Quite frankly, these pictures don't even do Mercy and Maggie justice. It's so bad to the point they are scratching so much their skin is bleeding - can you imagine being THAT itchy?!
Mercy was found, with her sister Maggie in tow, covered head to toe in Demodex mange. Encrusted, painful, and open wounds from scratching, not a soul wanted to help either baby due to their unsightly skin condition. Texas can already be a hopeless place for many animals and mixed in with disease and starvation, it could become fatal. Luckily, rescuers from Rescued Pet Movement Rescue spotted the two young, battered pups and scooped them up. From here would start a long health journey that unfortunately Maggie did not recover from. With Mercy now sister-less and still struggling for stability, this sweet baby needed all the support she could get.
After a couple of weeks of being hospitalized, she was becoming more and more stable. Doctors reported that she started to gain weight, her hair started to come back, and the hope in her eyes started to shine like a beacon of light. After major leaps forward in her health, rescuers were able to take her to her foster, where Mercy began to be a puppy for the first time ever. Running and playing with her fellow foster mates, learning how to rip stuffing from every plush toy she received, and what it means to be cuddled and loved. With a blanket of security and her health under control, rescuers thought it was time to put this precious angel up for adoption. Low and behold, no one could resist that crooked ear! Mercy was adopted in no time and to a lovely family!
Mercy will never need to worry again, as she and her new sibling get to play in their yard all day and then come into the love of their family. This transformation is incredible but with the amazing team of rescuers from Rescued Pets Movement Rescue and fantastic donors like you, this little bundle of joy would have met a much more terrible demise. The family has reported that she is so sweet and they are overwhelmed with happiness to have her around. Goes to show that when we all rally around an animal who needs it, miracles can happen!
We at CUDDLY want to thank every donor involved with Mercy’s cause. Thanks to you not only did this loving lady recover, but she met her donation goal completely! We are so thankful to have such amazing stories like these to tell and we would never have them without the blood, sweat, and tears of donors and rescuers alike. So again, THANK YOU from the deepest depths of our souls.
