Stella Mae

After watching this sweet girl suffer because of their neglect, her owner decided they were ready to be rid of her for good and abandoned her by a dumpster. The only nice thing they did for her was wrapped her in a towel when they left her there to die.

No one is sure how long she was just laying there wrapped in a towel, but due to the protruding ribs and lethargic behavior, it was obvious that she had been being starved for years. Rescuers from CAMO Rescue were shocked when was brought in at her condition, they rushed her to the vet to get much-needed vitals and ensure she wasn’t going to lose her life right there. The doctors reported had she spent one more day next to that dumpster alone, she would have starved to death for certain, as she was only 2 1/2 pounds! After several days of fluids, the hope in her eyes finally started to come back. Days turned into weeks and weeks into months, and Stella Mae’s hair even started to grow in! This sweet girl was truly making a full turnaround. Once she didn’t need to be medical watch, the team found her a foster to keep her until she was healthy enough to be up for adoption. There, she met another dog and even started learning what toys were! Ripping the stuffing from them and squeaking the squeakers as many times as she could. After some time with her loving foster, the doctor told her she was officially ready to be put up for adoption! 

Unfortunately, a UTI actually pushed back her date, but the foster was able to get all that handled and she was back on the roster! It didn’t take long, with a tiny little face like that and rescuers at CAMO Rescue working their tails off to spread the word this little lady found herself a furever home!! From dumped and destitute to loved and spoiled rotten, Stella Mae couldn’t be happier to have left her foster home with her new mother! Her days now consist of cuddling, playing, and being an entertaining superstar for her entire household.
