Archie

Severely hypoglycemic and having several seizures because of it, poor Archie was surrendered to the rescue. Unfortunately, the owner waited two days before getting him the help he needs - now he's in critical condition.

His previous owner ended up surrendering him due to not being able to or wanting to help him. The team quickly rushed him to the hospital, where due to his condition, he stayed for quite some time. Rescuers from Friends For Life Rescue Network were very nervous if he was going to pull through and arrange ahead of time for a medical foster, for if and when Archie got to come back from the hospital. In an amazing twist of events, the sweet tiny boy was released and diagnosed with Hypoglycemia. He wouldn’t eat one on his own and he needed around-the-clock care in order to start gaining weight and keep his sugar levels at the proper place. His medical foster got right to it, after a few weeks, he gained a pound, which enabled him to start moving and playing like a puppy! With no seizures in sight, everything was looking great. Archie was introduced to his medical foster’s many cats, who were there for him during the whole recovery period. Cuddling him, teaching him all the best sun-gazing spots, and cleaning his fur. With a full belly and fuzzy support group, he was able to really start to come into his own and — guess what?! He’s one spunky and sassy little man! 

After a couple of months, he seemed like a whole different dog. His hair started to grow in quite nicely and became very food motivated! With more weight, personality, and weeks, this little dude transformed completely. Archie was taken to his doctor for a check-up and was given a clean bill of health! Rescuers were over the moon, knowing they could finally put him up for adoption. The best part—this little dude was adopted immediately!! The family who took him were so happy to meet him, so filled with love, rescuers knew it was the perfect fit and while it is always hard to see them go, the team at Friends For Life Rescue Network knew this wouldn’t be the last they heard of Archie and his happy new family. 

As always, we at CUDDLY want to give credit where credit is due. Archie made 80% of his $6,000 dollar goal, which is incredible! This little pup could have never done it without the help of all the amazing donors who give so diligently on our platform. When rescuers, donors, and all of us at CUDDLY get together, magic can really happen! Archie is proof of that statement!
