Every dog is special, but you know those dogs that just really strike a cord? Well – for rescuers from Saving Animal Lives 24/7, Claus Ascher is that dog.
Claus lived in Texas, where he may have had a family but it is suspected that he was dumped - possibly out of a moving vehicle because of his wounds... Named after Claus Ascher, a Jewish German refugee in WWII who was severely injured during an air raid and then after a life-saving surgery and a lengthy recovery period, Claus returned and rejoined in the fight - this pup has a resilient spirit like his namesake.
Now, this pup was hurt and unable to move, left alone to waste away, riddled with fleas, mosquitoes, and infections! But his story was about to change…
Claus, once being passed up on, now has been SPOILED with love, care, and gifts from his extremely generous supporters!! As he recovered from his gruesome injuries including bones that were so severely broken that they were protruding from his legs, now had all the surgeries and physical therapy to land him back on ALL 4 FEET! He did not have to have any sort of amputation, which is what we were fearing, and he is now just the happiest pup you will ever meet!
We are also over the moon excited to share with you that he is now adopted!! Cases like Clause are exactly why we do what we do here. This precious soul was once knocking on death’s door, and now he is in a loving home, fully recovered and being spoiled by his new family!!
This wouldn’t have happened without the generosity of the amazing donors who were committed to seeing Claus recover. We want to thank everyone who gave and to the amazing platform that CUDDLY gives for us to share our animals stories so that we in turn can save more lives!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
