Thomas

Thomas was found in the Germantown section of Philadelphia in late March. Someone passing by saw this poor, emaciated, and clearly injured boy laying on the sidewalk. This person took immediate action by posting to a Facebook community cats group and local volunteers went and recovered Thomas.

Stray Cat Relief offered to take Thomas to rescue and oversee his care. Thomas was admitted to the University of Penn Veterinary Hospital where he stayed in the ICU for 32 days. Thomas had a whole lot of ups and downs and very scary times during his stay at the hospital. No one was prepared for the journey this sweet boy took us all on both financially and emotionally. He was found with trauma to his jaw. It is unsure how he came to be like this but abuse is what his trauma is leaning towards. He was also found with a metal clip in his stomach that had to be surgically removed. His hind legs are wrapped from infectious sores he got because of diarrhea from his treatments...

As you know, Thomas' story started off difficult. After spending 32 days in the ICU trying to get back on his feet and fully recovered. His stay and treatment racked up over $35,747 and we felt as if we were drowning! But little did we remember, our animal rescue community knows how to come THROUGH!

With an incredible thanks TO YOU, we were able to raise 100% of the funds needed to cover this sweet boy's bills AND over 370 wishlist items were sent to show him how much he was loved and considered over the time he was recovering. You guys showed up!

He is now doing incredibly well, his surgery went swimmingly and he is now looking like a new cat. He has been deemed completely healthy and ready to be adopted and loved by a lucky family.

We cannot begin to say thank you enough to all of the people who surrounded Thomas in his time of need. We could not imagine where he would be without your support and we are excited to keep up this rescue business! We also want to thank CUDDLY for providing us the platform to get the word out so that animals like Thomas can be supported and saved who otherwise would never get the chance!
