When someone sees a case like Salem’s it is impossible not to immediately well up with tears. The level of carelessness and neglect goes above and beyond, how could so many people on the street just walk on by as this senior pup who sat with a large cancerous tumor that continued to grow and wrap around her ankle, practically starting to swallow her whole. Left on the streets, whining and crying in pain, this old girl started to feel like nothing in her life would ever change...

But EVERYTHING changed for this precious girl! This is truly the happy ending that we hope that every pup gets to experience. Yes, this girl's cancer was painful and extremely dangerous but everyone came together to make sure she received the care and treatment that she desperately needed to stay alive.

Doctors were nervous regarding her test results originally, nervous that her cancer had spread but she received the news that it had NOT, and treatment was expensive but do-able. That's when all of our amazing donors and supporters came in!

The best option for her was to remove the leg that cancer had infected. This did NOT stop this sweet girl as she evidently felt as if she had a second chance at life! Her foster mom informed us that she is the kindest and most loving companion she has ever had, and she is incredible with kids and other animals. So it was no surprise when *drum roll please* SHE WAS ADOPTED!

This story would have not played out this way if it wasn't for the amazing remote rescuers who donated to this precious girl's care. We are so incredibly grateful for every amount and gift that was given to see Salem live the life she so rightfully deserved.
