Maya

After being struck with expenses from previous rescues, Charley's K-9 Rescue paused their intake.  Then, we received the heartbreaking call about a three-year-old pup named Maya.  When sweet Maya was picked up by animal control, she could barely stand, let alone walk independently.  The shelter took her to the vet, where they prescribed antibiotics and pain medications, but rescuers could sense something else was very wrong…After rushing her to Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital, rescuers from Charley's K-9 Rescue found out she was in septic shock and had hypothermia after being attacked multiple times.  At first, rescuers weren't sure if she would continue fighting, but she did a complete 180 in her health.

Maya is a fighter and overcame her physical, mental, and emotional obstacles; she was able to progress.  This girl went through a complete recovery with many debridement surgeries to help clean up the extensive injuries to her legs.  In addition, she received bandage changes to dress/clean the wounds.  Lastly, many laser therapy treatments also brought her to better health.  And even better, this sweet girl was adopted by her foster family, who is now her forever family!  That's right!  This sweet girl can now celebrate new beginnings with her new family!  

She went from a broken and bruised girl to a happy, PERMANENT FAMILY MEMBER with her foster family!  Maya is officially home, and we couldn't be happier with this decision as we know Maya will live her absolute best life for all the time she has left!  Maya will spend her time with her foster sister, Ears.  The two enjoy a leisurely stroll around the farm before relaxing on the couch with their foster dad!  This is the life we imagined for this little girl, and we could not have done it without your generous support and prayers!  

We at CUDDLY want to give credit where credit is due; when Maya needed the funds for surgery and treatment, funds were raised in due time.  This little pup could have never done it without the help of all the fantastic donors who give so diligently on our platform.  Maya is proof that when rescuers, donors, and all of us at CUDDLY get together, magic can really happen!  Thank you for all of the love and support shown to this sweet girl; she could never have been able to find her loving home without you!
