JJ

JJ had been failed and abused her entire life. From the moment she was taken from her mother at barely a few weeks old, she was sold into animal experimentation where she spent five years being a subject to inhumane testing that was funded by tax-paying dollars.  During this time, she only knew what it felt like to be degraded down to nothing, after all, she was not a living being with feelings to these scientists…she was a number -  as proven by the one they permanently inked into her ear.

For the majority of JJ’s life, she lived in a laboratory. This means that her puppyhood was spent in a cage with no toys, no treats, and complete loneliness. She was never raised as a dog and knew nothing but stress and fear. In fact, the only contact JJ ever had with anyone during those years was when she was taken out of the cage to be tested on. But, all that changed when our rescue finally saved her from a miserable life. 

Thankfully, our rescue found JJ the perfect foster home to allow her the space to grow as she learned how to cope with her PTSD and be a pup for the first time in her life. JJ’s foster quickly fell in love with her sweet disposition, describing her as gentle and never shying away from her loving touch. There was not one ounce of anger in JJ, who arguably should have been SO angry with the world after what it put her through. Instead, JJ welcomed the love her foster siblings and parents willingly offered her each and every day. 

As her time with her new foster family went on, the more she opened up her heart to them and the more they opened their hearts to her. For a pup that endured so much hardship, she made HUGE strides in her recovery each new week. JJ’s foster mama showered her with cookies and goodies, something she had never experienced before. There were times JJ was a bit hesitant but with a little courage, she eventually learned to enjoy the gifts showered upon her. 

It didn’t take long for JJ to be ready for her adoption, none of which would have been possible without the love and support her foster parents constantly provided. They showed her how to be a dog and that not every human wants to bring her harm. They reminded her every single day that despite the years of torture she endured, she was worthy of love. And…with their amazing dedication, we are so excited to announce that JJ was able to find the perfect home…that’s right! This girl has been ADOPTED! We are SO thrilled for JJ and her new forever family! This girl deserved nothing but the best and we can’t wait to hear about all the adventures she has had with her new family!
