"I’m sure we are all familiar with the saying “Rescue never sleeps” well that definitely applied to us when we received yet another call about a poor pup in need.
While on a cruise to Cabo, one of our board members saw an email from the East Valley Shelter about a sad-looking Frenchie with a myriad of issues. This poor baby was suffering from a prolapsed rectum, spinal issues, and some kind of upper respiratory infection. Some calls were quickly made and we were able to arrange transport to bring this sweet girl to the vet. She is currently there getting the medical attention she so desperately needs and we will have a bit more info in a few days."...
Well, before we knew it, Piglet was in our care! She was even more of a mess than we imagined, it was clear that she hadn't seen the inside of a vet's office in a VERY long time. Her ear and respiratory infections were gnarly, and her prolapse needed to be addressed ASAP. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work!
She ended up requiring two surgeries for her prolapse, as the first surgery did not stick. She handled them extremely well, and is feeling so much better. We were able to get her on medications that completely cleared up her ear infection, but her URI was being a bit tricky. It took a little longer, and a few more meds before that started to clear up.
She is now doing SO much better and is so loved by everyone on our staff. We knew that whoever adopted Piglet would be the luckiest family in the world- and they were!
Piglet was adopted! She found her forever family and we couldn't have been more thrilled. She is now getting all the love and snuggles that she wasn't afforded early in her life. We are so happy for her and her new parents.
Thank you for your generosity towards Piglet, and thank you CUDDLY for allowing us a space to tell her story. This is why we do what we do!
