Cheto

Six months ago, Cheto was found lying motionless along a waterway in San Diego County with exposed bones, shattered paws, and a partly-amputated leg.

Thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, Cheto was able to receive lifesaving surgery to amputate the remainder of his leg and stitch his severed flesh back together. 

Over time, Cheto slowly regained his appetite and eventually reached a healthy weight. He became a staff favorite at the animal hospital and started greeting everyone as they entered the facility. 

Cheto is on a specialized diet and is getting stronger every day. His coat regained its shine and he constantly wags his tail in joy. Cheto is adjusting to his life as a three-legged dog and walks well with a harness.

After months of treatment, Cheto has finally been adopted! He has happily joined his forever home with an amazing couple in San Diego who are thrilled to give sweet Cheto an amazing life.

Join us as we celebrate this amazing pup who never gave up, even when the odds were stacked against him.  Today, Cheto loves playing at the beach with his new family and getting spoiled at home with lots of positive affection. After the torture Cheto suffered on the streets, he absolutely deserves to be happy and free.
