Sofia

This is Sofia, an amazing little girl who also happens to be one of the bravest and most resilient puppies we've ever rescued.

In 2021, one-year-old Sofia was found terrified and injured on the street with body parts missing, shattered teeth, infected facial bite wounds, and a lacerated muzzle, among others. She was likely used as a bait dog, which is basically a punching bag for fighting dogs. That's right, vicious canine prizefighters regularly used Sofia's helpless little body to practice mauling their opponents. 

In just two years of life, Sofia has experienced more pain, abuse, and neglect than we could ever imagine.

However, even after undergoing six successful reconstructive surgeries and being hospitalized for several months to receive specialized treatment and recovery, Sofia still managed to spread love and joy wherever she went. 

The inhumanity that corrupted Sofia's past is frustrating, confusing, and downright illegal, but we are thrilled that Sofia doesn't have to live like that anymore. 

In fact, Sofia was recently ADOPTED by an amazing woman who made an instant connection with little Sofia from the moment they met. Sofia is a friendly girl who loves everyone, but she was especially drawn to her new owner like a magnet. 

Sofia has had an incredibly long and painful journey in her early puppy years, but she is brave and never gave up. We are so happy that Sofia has bounced back from her traumatic life experiences and is now living the dream with her new owner.
