Milo

Milo is a brave little kitten who was rescued in December 2022 after being found with razor sharp fishing hooks embedded into his mouth and feet. 

The fishing hooks had been intentionally and forcefully pierced through Milo's tongue to the roof of his mouth, causing the skin between his tongue and mouth to be severely mangled and mutilated, and his gums to be sliced down to the bone. Poor Milo was in agonizing pain and continuously pawed at the bloodied wounds on his face and feet.

Milo received critical wound management and pain medication, but his devastating injuries were unrelenting and the hooks had to be surgically removed. Doctors conducted complicated emergency surgery to safely extract the hooks from Milo's disfigured mouth and feet, then transferred him to the recovery room to begin his intensely painful rehabilitation process. 

After surgery, Milo was able to eat on his own but struggled to drink water and had to receive subcutaneous fluids to prevent dangerous dehydration. Over time, Milo's melancholy mood started to perk up and he even allowed us to clean his face and administer his medication, which was a huge step in the right direction.

Soon, Milo's mouth began to heal and he regained full motion of his tongue without any swelling or infection. Fortunately, Milo is now eating normally and back to his normal, happy self. He is such a loving boy and craves constant attention. 

Once Milo's injuries were fully healed, he became available for adoption and quickly found an amazing forever home with his new owner in northeastern Florida who was so excited to welcome Milo into her home. We are so happy for little Milo and are excited for him to live his best life with his new family, which also includes a kitty sibling and two Beagle siblings.
