The first time we met Maravella, she was a tiny 5-pound paralyzed pup who had been slowly starving in a freezing Texas field. In fact, it was so cold that the bucket of water she had been given was completely frozen over, which made no difference as the poor girl was unable to reach it anyways.
Once we had Maravella, we made the heartbreaking discovery of a severe spinal fracture in addition to a pelvic fracture. With her body in such bad shape, we knew she was headed down a long road to recovery including surgery and intensive physical rehab. But, in spite of her tiny size, we knew Maravella was up for the challenge!
After her much-needed procedure, Maravella began attending rehab weekly to help with her mobility issues. AND…she even received her very own set of wheels! While undergoing therapy, she received a combination of cold lasers, acupuncture, balance, strengthening exercises, and time on the water treadmill. With all of this, we knew it would be no time before the pain began to flee from her little body!
And thankfully, Maravella, the little Miracle, began making HUGE strides! She started gaining weight and eagerly accepted the treats sent by our amazing CUDDLY donors to motivate her to do more work! And despite some minor hiccups along the way, including a Urinary Tract Infection and a spay, Maravella has had a BEAUTIFUL transformation! A once starving, paralyzed, and hopeless pup is now a healthy, happy, and bright baby who speeds around like we never could have imagined!
BUT…that’s not even the best part! We are beyond thrilled to share the amazing news that Maravella has found her perfect match! She has been ADOPTED, by a wonderful woman with another dog just like Maravella! And since then, Maravella has found a new mom and a best friend!
With that said, we could not be more thankful for CUDDLY and the generous donors who contributed to the recovery of this deserving girl! It’s because of you, that Maravella has been given a second chance at a beautiful life and has a whole life of adventure waiting for her! Thank you!
