Tilly

Less than 90 days ago, Tilly was found lying motionless and covered in blood on the side of an Alabama road and was rushed to the emergency animal hospital in critical condition.

Tilly had spent most of her life as a bait dog and was used as a punching bag for aggressive fighting dogs. She had been forced to endure repeated and aggressive abuse, then abandoned and left to suffer in pain without any medical treatment.

By the time she had reached the hospital, Tilly was in a state of life-or-death.

Doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize her feeble and emaciated body while giving her plenty of fluids, antibiotics, and pain medication. She had an irregularly fast heartbeat, dangerously low blood sugar, and a high fever. Plus, she had blood in her lungs and extremely low blood pressure.

Tilly suffered horrendous open wounds all over her body and was at high risk for septic shock due to the number and severity of her wounds. Worse still, most of the tissue in her ears had become necrotic and she had to have both of her ears surgically removed because they were literally rotting away.

After losing her ears, Tilly's surgical site had to be bandaged and re-bandaged every day to keep her wounds clean and prevent them from getting infected. Day after day, Tilly had to be sedated so that doctors could change her surgical bandages and keep her healthy.

Eventually, Tilly's wounds healed and her bandages were removed for the very last time. Tilly has been liberated from her abusive past and we are incredibly excited about her exciting new future with her new family.

That's right, Tilly has been adopted--she certainly deserves a life full of love and happiness!

This sweet girl has defied the odds and gone from bait dog to loving family companion, and we couldn't be happier for her!
